Lynk 09

In-vehicle infotainment

Overview

As a UX Designer, I had the opportunity to work on enhancing the in-vehicle infotainment system for Lynk & Co, a new-age premium automobile brand created through a joint venture between Geely Automobile and Volvo Cars. Our goal was to improve the in-car experience by combining entertainment and information.

With the objective of revitalizing the system's branding, our team aimed to create a seamless and intuitive 3D environment that would deliver practicality and effectiveness to the mid-class user base.
I was proud to collaborate with the Lynk design team in optimizing two key functions, Ambient Light and Discharging, for their mid-sized SUV model, Lynk 09. The result was a user-centered solution that elevated the overall driving experience.

REFLECTION.

Impact

The Lynk 09 team was delighted with our final design concept and they moved on to the next stage of development. And they are continuing to explore the 3D context with us, extending to the in-car game portion.

Takeaway

Through this project, I have gained a deeper understanding of design systems. We used the pre-existing design system for UI design as this is an already-launched in-vehicle infotainment to ensure that the new embedded feature adheres to the previous design. The effectiveness of our design teamwork is increased by using design systems.

Going Forward

There are already more than 650,000 clients of Lynk. To enhance the user experience, we had the opportunity to collaborate directly with the product team. We discovered how to speak the company's language, adhere to their needs, and focus our efforts on alleviating the user's pain points rather than merely following the designer's workflow.
